Case
Study and Decolonization Process: DI points at proposed on the basis of
case studies and detailed descriptions as complete as mentioned in his
quote "It has been proposed that the Decolonization There are three
models: first, they are an independent country by the colonial power
their internal pressure (Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau,
Samoa and Vanuatu), second, the countries that already have
independence forced on them by the colonial powers (Fiji, Kiribati,
Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu), and, third, the countries
that have been independent but maintains diplomatic relations continue
with the colonial power (Cook Islands (Rarotonga) and Niue). Regardless
of the model, the end result is the realization of the right of
indigenous peoples to self-determination. A seminar or study could be
important in offering valuable insight into this model. Due to the
diversity of the region Pacific,
the study is limited in the case study below, review the steps taken by
New Caledonia, as an example of Non-Self-Governing Territory currently
on the list for consideration by the committee, in its quest for
independence, in addition to the status of Hawaii, Polynesia and West
Papua. well as describing in detail about the areas that are the focus
of the proposed study and the case study, are: New Caledonia (New
Caledonia), Polinecia France, Hawaii, Papua Barat (West Papua)
Seven
points to be discussed "Conclusions and Recommendations, namely: It is
undisputed that the colonization of the Pacific island nation has been
hurt, that indigenous peoples have the right to self-determination and
decolonization Pacific that problematic. Third International Decade for
the Eradication of Colonialism regardless, there are still islands Pacific islands seek independence from their colonizers.
New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Hawaii and West Papua all seek the right to self-determination. All
had undergone a process of experiencing problematic and many human
rights violations that can not be accepted that further exacerbate this
process. These problems though, there is a process to search through the Special Committee on decolonization. Given the important process by which the Committee is in charge, it is recommended that adequate funding continues.
Given
the problems encountered, it is suggested that the relevant UN agencies
should consider the expert group meeting on decolonization Pacific to
work together with the Special Committee to assess applications for
independence.Dokumnet source: Papersmart UN Meetings
